When a beloved animal companion dies there is no way to overstate the pain of that separation. We often get the message from our world that we need to, “let go and move on”, when in fact, the real work of grieving is to find ways to stay connected. Pet Reliquaries help us do that by honoring the love between animals and people, they are a physical reminder of our indestructible living connection. Honoring and memorializing a beloved one who has passed is an instinctual, healthy response to loss, one that has been carried out by people for millennia, and a powerful part of the grieving process. People who have chosen to have a reliquary made describe what an important a part of their grief journey and healing it was.

Lisa Havelin, MA, MFA, LMFT is the owner of Pet Reliquaries; a master metalsmith and therapist specializing in the human-animal bond and grief. To find out more about custom, handmade reliquaries, please visit: www.petreliquaries.com

Pet memorial rings are designed to celebrate the memory of your four-legged friend — dog, cat, horse or other precious pal. In addition to our pet ash rings, we offer pet memorial necklaces and pet ash charms — another tasteful way to keep their memory close to your heart after they’ve passed. Choose from any of our existing pet memorial jewelry designs or contact us to create you a piece of custom memorial jewelry. We’ve created one-of-a-kind rings inlaid with shaved horse hoof, pet hair, and more. Contact a JBJ design consultant and share your ideas — it’s likely we can make them reality!

joysessionsSarah Beth Photography Joy Sessions

Something that makes Sarah Beth Photography unique, and something I’m particularly proud to offer, is the Joy Session®.

Whether you’ve spent a short time or a lifetime with your pet, saying goodbye is the hardest thing you’ll have to do. These special, end-of-life sessions are just for terminally ill or elderly pets. These beautiful photos will highlight your relationship together and the love you share before they pass.

Owners who have chosen to invest in a Joy Session® have found that their images are a priceless momento that not only helps them through the grieving process but keeps them connected to their pets long after they’re gone. With an ailing pet, I know there can be significant expenses related to their care, so I’m happy to work with you on payment plans, and I archive all images so they’re available whenever you’re ready to make selections.

Please don’t wait too long. Joy Sessions® aren’t meant to capture the very last moments with your pet, but rather to celebrate your life together before that time comes. (Some of my Joy Session® clients have lived for a year or more after the photos were taken!)

I do my best to fit these in as soon as they’re needed, but if this is something you’re interested in, I really recommend planning ahead. With more time, we’re often able to capture your pet while he’s still feeling and looking well, and we can schedule around the weather, helping create your best possible session.

I know it’s difficult to admit when the end is growing near, but please don’t let fear or superstition prevent you from capturing joyful memories with your best friend.

or Facebook

I’ve been an artist since my childhood in rural Minnesota. In high school, I tried graphite portraiture for the first time and fell in love. I went on to receive a BA from Augustana University and took Graphic Design courses at Art Institute International – Minnesota. I have since expanded my pursuits to include charcoal drawing, photography, and stained glass.

Fundraising is my 9-5 job and I am currently the Development Director at Stages Theatre Company. Past employers include Fox Advancement in Minneapolis, Virginia Repertory Theatre in Richmond, VA, and The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra in St. Paul. I’ve worked in non-profits since 2000 and that career path has allowed me the freedom to pursue my artistic passions.

I have many joys, including my husband, Robbie, my cats Franklin & Janis and dog Indie, being outdoors — camping, hiking, or just observing, listening to a variety of music and making my own, reading fiction and memoirs, cooking and eating delicious food, watching good and bad cinema and theatre, singing karaoke, writing, acting, and traveling.

I am grateful to God, the first Artist, for giving me artistic ability, and to my family and friends for supporting and encouraging my creativity. Please contact me if you have questions about pricing or would like to talk about commissioning a piece.

glassAscension Art Glass by Steve Claypatch

Our pet is our companion, our friend, and confidant(e). Each time we are reminded of our deceased pet, we usually can feel an energetic charge/emotion within us. This is their spirit or soul aligning with our heart, even after they have left this physical world.

Within the glass, I infuse a small amount of ash from the cremation. When I create your memorial, I hold your pet with highest regard and will carefully handle their remains. The small amount of ash will be imbedded in the glass.

This memorial provides an alternative to keeping the spirit of our animal partner near in a more pleasing manner than a bag or container of ash. Many of us spread the ash of our friend in the pet’s favorite play area. With this preference, you can still honor this need, and have the memory of your animal companion with you at any time.

This is an excellent option for a keepsake memorial for family members.

As an alternative or a compliment to a Window Urn, I create a Cremation Urn to receive the ashes of your favorite pet. Cremation Urns are a beautiful way of preserving and presenting your loved one in an artistic way.

cloneCuddle Clones

Our story starts on a summer evening in 2005 when our founder, Jennifer Williams, was lying down with her best pal in the world, her Great Dane Rufus. Jennifer thought to herself “It would be great to have a stuffed animal of Rufus! Not a generic stuffed animal but one that was 100% custom-made to look JUST like him.” Several years passed but Jennifer never completely let go of the idea she had on that day. Then, in the fall of 2009, her beloved Rufus began to get sick. Rufus passed away on Thanksgiving of that year. Jennifer decided then and there that she would pursue the idea she had never quite let go of, and in doing so, honor Rufus’ memory. This was the day Cuddle Clones was born.

Since that day, Jennifer has poured all of her time, money and effort into making Cuddle Clones a company that would not only provide a unique, quality product to pet-lovers everywhere, but also a company that would give back to the pet community whenever and wherever possible through pet-related causes and animal charities.
